The Marquette Companies is a locally grown and nationally known town builder of large scaled, high quality, mixed-use town centers. Its neighborhood development initiatives extend from Atlanta to Texas with loft developments a specialty within Marquette's development portfolio.
The flexibility and lifestyle that loft condominiums provide is becoming widely known across the country. This trend appeals to a broad audience of residents ranging from young to old. Marquette's loft environments range from Gritty authentic urban lofts in Mid-Town Detroit to more polished lofts in historic settings like Downtown Lemont. Our love for lofts is reflected in the attention we place on offering features and options that maximize both your livability and your investment value. We believe that Loft living is the fresh new way to enliven historic downtowns and provides an extraordinary investment return for your housing dollar.
Come visit Lemont's new Front Street Lofts and join others just like you wanting to experience loft living first hand in Historic Downtown Lemont.

Settled in 1836, and incorporated in 1873, historic Lemont is one of the oldest and most unique communities in northeastern Illinois. With rolling hills and three waterways providing a scenic view, Lemont offers a peaceful atmosphere unique to the Chicagoland area.
Lemont's colorful early history began in the late 1830's with the construction of the Illinois and Michigan Canal, and with the influx of immigrant workers who settled and remained. By the mid 1800's, limestone quarrying became the big business in Lemont and was the main cause of the town's growth. Many fine local examples of buildings constructed with Lemont limestone still exist, including the Historic Chicago Water Tower landmark on Michigan Avenue. Local government and community volunteers have forged strong partnerships to rejuvenate both the I & M Canal and the old limestone quarries, with the goal of utilizing them for recreational and commercial use.
Lemont is governed by its Mayor and the Village Board. Additionally, a Village Administrator and professional staff head key departments and carry out the Board's policies. Contact information for Village Officials can be found by selecting the "Village Officials" link above.
The Village Board meets on the 2nd & 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Village Hall. The 3rd Monday of each month is a Committee of the Whole meeting, which also starts at 7:00 p.m.
Village government is based at the Lemont Village Hall located at 418 Main Street. Hall hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Departments, including Administration, Finance, Community Development, Building, and Economic Development are housed in the Hall. The Police Department is housed at 416 Main Street. The Public Works and Water Department is located at 14574 127th Street.
